If you follow this blog, you might already know that both me and Hazel like to walk and while doing so I like to take photographs, sometimes with my DSLR and sometimes just using my phone camera, which is surprisingly good. I love the quality of light at certain times of the day, and just can’t resist taking a few snaps as we walk. I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I enjoyed taking them.
Parbold lies in the valley of the River Douglas, at the bottom of Parbold Hill, about three miles west of junction 27 of the M6 motorway on the A5209. The village can also be reached by rail on the line from Manchester to Southport. Close to the village centre the Leeds and Liverpool Canal passes over the River Douglas. I’ve included a map at the bottom of this post.
Walking along the canal is a great way to pass the day if you’re looking for somewhere to go for a nice walk.
